Matty’s Valentine’s Day Themed Dedication

M

Bigger Is Not Better:

Perhaps one of the most common misconceptions about parties is that the bigger they are, the nicer the event. Not true at all. Take for example, Mommy Macy’s absolutely adorable dedication party for Matthias. Mommy Macy was scheduled to do Matty’s dedication, and wanted an intimate gathering with her closest family and friends. And since the date fell close to Valentine’s, well, it made perfect sense to do a Love Day themed party!

Our romantic set-up for Matty’s Dedication. A big THANK YOU to Louie Arcilla of Hey Bebe Studios for taking these wonderful pictures!

Matty’s main backdrop continues the love affair I have with free-standing, curved backdrops (see Pio’s Unconventional Dinosaur Party).

The whole setup was quite intimate, so we did just two “stations”: the main stage, and a dessert area (left side).

The dessert table even had my favorite cookie brand, Ben’s Cookies!

In the middle of the stage and the dessert area, we placed a small picnic area filled with all kinds of goodies:

Doesn’t that look so lovely?

The best part for me though was the centerpiece. I am infatuated with floristry and jumped at the chance to style this beautifully crafted wooden dinner table of Mommy Macy:

I wanted a fresh take on floral arrangements, so I avoided anything deliberate or structured and opted for a more free-flowing, natural way of arranging the flowers:

A happy dedication to our dearest Matty!

Love,

Michelle
